Family vacation in Greece constitute a perfect mix between leisure time for the parents and recreation for the children. In Greek summers the sun shines all the time and the sea blue takes over. You and your family while in Greece will have the chance to swim in clear, safe water, as most of the beaches are "blue flaged", visit archaeological sites and enjoy incredible food. Downsides
- It is difficult to find hotel room suitable for four (4) or five (5) people. Common hote rooms are 2 single beded with small balcony and sometimes a small refregator. There are studios or other options for 4 – 5 persons, however you have to book in advance in order to be safe.
- Most restaurants are not designed for small kids. Finding high chairs is almost imposible.
Tips
- September is definitely slower than July or August. Hotel rooms are easier to find and you’ll probably get about a 10% or 20% discount off the high season price. Weather is perfect also, allthought there might be high winds.
- If you’re going to any of the most popular islands ( Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Corfu, Crete (Chania or Rethymno)) in July or August you need to book in advance
- If you have a large party of 4 or more people it’s best that you book in advance
